Coconut clusters are generally considered safe for a wide range of parrot species, including African Grey Parrots, Amazon Parrots, Blue & Gold Macaws, Green-Winged Macaws, Scarlet Macaws, Hyacinth Macaws, Cockatoos, Cockatiels, Eclectus Parrots, Conures, Caiques, Senegal Parrots, Pionus Parrots, Lovebirds, Parrotlets, Budgerigars, Ringneck Parakeets, and Quaker Parrots. Due to its higher fat content, offer in moderation — particularly for smaller species and those prone to weight gain.

How to Serve

Offer as an occasional treat alongside a balanced diet. Small parrots (budgies, parrotlets, lovebirds) can enjoy a small piece 2–3 times per week; medium parrots (cockatiels, conures, caiques, Senegals) upto half a piece 2–3 times per week; large parrots (African Greys, Amazons, Eclectus) 1 piece 2–3 times per week; and extra-large parrots (macaws, cockatoos) up to 2 pieces 2–3 times per week. Coconut can be offered as a treat, cut into tiny pieces and put over food, or tucked into foraging toys for enrichment.
